Asus VivoBook Gaming F571GT Pros
So let’s move ahead and discuss its pros in details and touch every aspect of it.
It offers a Full HD LED Display with Anti-Glare which is quite good and effective. The best part is that it has very small bezels which gives an immersive experience no matter you are playing games or watching movies, you get great experience with a 16:9 display ratio.
The display is quite bright, so you can do your work easily in a bright room as well, so in the display segment, Asus has offered great specifications and display quality in this laptop.
Asus offers 512GB SSD out of the box which is quite good and gives your system quite a performance boost. As SSD is way faster than HDD you get great speed while using any application or using any other services.
So 512GB SSD is good enough for basic software usage and installing some games, but when it comes to storing movies, songs and games that after a while that storage might become less for you, but worry not Asus has given an empty slot for Optical disk where you can add an internal HDD of 1/2 TB and increase your space where you can store all your favourite movies and games.
This is one of the best section which I liked about this laptop, it offers you a fingerprint reader to quickly login to your account. We all are quite familiar with the fingerprint technology in Smartphones, so having it in laptop significantly improves the quality of your system as it lets you quickly access your account without typing your password.
I have been using this Laptop for a month and it has never disappointed me in quick login using fingerprint.
Asus VivoBook is powered with 8 GB of Ram and i5 8th Gen 8300H Processor which is very powerful and gives you amazing performance whether you are doing video editing or any other heavy task.
I have used Android Studio and ran the emulator and it worked flawlessly without any issue and loaded quite quickly. So this laptop is power-packed and offers great speed and performance.
Asus VivoBook is powered by Nvidia GTX 1650 Graphic Card which is best in class for this price range and offers quite high-quality graphic and performance. Benchmark:- 7895, shows that it’s quite powerful and can handle some moderate to heavy game usage quite well.
It offers good fps in most of the games, and haven’t seen any fluctuation or lagging in games so far. So in graphics, this laptop offers quite a good specification to satisfy your gaming or video editing needs.
Asus VivoBook comes with Chicklet keyboard along with Backlit support, the keyboard quality is good and the haptic feedback it gives is quite fine as well, the backlit supports various light levels, so you can easily adjust it as per your requirements, enabling you to work in night easily in a different environment.
The keyboard on Asus VivoBook is a full-size keyboard, thus giving you the Numpad as well which is a good option.
So, this covers the Pros of Asus Vivobook Gaming, now let’s discuss its cons.
Asus VivoBook Gaming F571GT Cons
The major problem with gaming laptops is their battery backup while getting the best performance and speed you have to make a compromise with the battery backup.
Asus VivoBook Gaming F571GT can give you a battery backup of up to 3-4 hours on normal usage and can give up to 1-2 hours backup on heavy usages like gaming or video editing.
At the end of this post, I will share some tips on using the laptop without damaging the battery if you continue to keep it on charge for a longer period.
This is one of the most concerning part of this laptop, the fans are positioned in such a way that heat out of those fans goes directly to the screen. Below the screen it has the plastic body which is a bad conductor of heat, thus you can be relieved that it won’t pass the heat received on it to the screen.
However, on a long run, it can’t be ensured that whether is it safe or not, so I highly recommend limiting the gaming up to 3-4 hours, so that the panel doesn’t get too much hot and eventually causing damage to the screen.
Asus claims that the audio is equipped with Harman/Kardon audio output which should be giving quite a good audio performance, however, I have seen that the audio quality is average on this laptop and sometimes if you play a video on VLC media play and then pause and play again the sound mysteriously gets very low and I couldn’t figure it out why that happens.
So in sound quality, I am a little bit disappointed, but you can easily grab a pair of earphones/headphones and use them while playing games or watching movies for a better immersive experience.
By the looks of it, the body of laptop looks quite premium and good looking, however, while you start using it, you realize that it can easily get dirty, if you use it with oily hands than it gets oily marks everywhere, so avoid using it with oily hands, always clean your hands before using it to avoid any marks on it.
So use it with care and if possible buy a cover for it and add that cover to it for better safety.
Asus VivoBook Gaming F571GT Tips
Battery Health Charging
As discussed on Cons Section of Asus VivoBook Gaming, every gaming laptop gives very low battery backup, thus you might find yourself in situations where you keep it charged every time, but do you know overcharging any device can damage its performance and battery as well.
So, Asus has given a very good option through which you can limit its charging thus protect it from overcharging while keeping it on charging.
With MyAsus Software you can switch between 3 battery profiles, so let’s discuss them in details below:
Full Capacity Mode
In this profile, your laptop will charge up to 100% and after which you should turn off the charging to avoid overcharge and damage, this profile is good in case you are doing regular usage, or you have to go out with laptop then you can keep it fully charged this way. But keep it in mind not to overcharge it.
Once the laptop charges up to 100% you should turn off charging immediately and start using it in battery mode. But sometimes it can become frustrating to go for turning off the charger and then after some time turn on the charger one’s battery goes down, so next battery profiles are just about that.
Balance Mode (Recommended)
When you use your laptop in meeting or a conference then you can set it to Balance Mode, thus in this mode, it will charge up to 80% only and keep it charging if the battery goes down, thus it doesn’t allow the battery to get overcharged and lets you continuously charge your laptop and use it without any interruption.
Maximum Lifespan Mode
So are you a heavy laptop user, who uses laptop throughout the day than you might prefer to keep the charging on the whole day, but that could heavily damage the battery life, so Maximum Lifespan Mode comes handy here, it stops the charging at 60% and maintains the 60% battery if the battery goes down.
So it doesn’t allow the battery to be overcharged by locking the charging at 60% and allowing to use it without any interruption. This method ensures that you get maximum lifespan for your battery and doesn’t allow the charging to damage it. So highly recommend enabling this option if you keep your laptop always on charge.
True2Life is an exclusive video enhancement technology used by Asus to enhance the quality of videos giving you a much better experience.
It uses the advanced intelligent algorithm which optimizes the sharpness and contrast of every video frame, making videos look clearer, more detailed and more realistic.
So you should enable this feature for a more immersive experience and better picture quality.
By Default Asus VivoBook Gaming comes installed with Windows 10 Home Single Language 1903 Version, which is quite outdated now, so I will highly recommend that you upgrade your windows to the latest edition, by going to update section, you can easily upgrade it to version 2004 of Windows 10 which is much stable and have lots of security fixes to give you a better experience.
So you should consider updating windows to be updated with security fixes and improvements.
